Motilium (Domperidone)

This
medicine may be in the form of solid tablets or liquid. The tablets go in one
package – small white round tablets, most of all, with 30 pieces in one box.
The suspension goes in a 100 ml bottle, with a small syringe for a specific
dosage. There is also liquid Motilium for children.

The most
active ingredient in the Motilium pill is domperidone. This preparation also includes
maize starch, safe microcrystalline cellulose, and also it has povidone,
lactose, components: cottonseed oil with hydrogenated base, hypromellose,
magnesium stearate, and several other active elements.

Motilium is
intended for patients who have disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract,
as well as for people with diabetic gastroparesis or acute/chronic gastritis. Also,
this drug will be an excellent solution for those who ate a lot and feel
heaviness in the stomach. There are other uses for this
medicine:

• slow stomach function,

• vomiting,

• bloating,

• belching after eating,

• nausea,

• loss of appetite.

This tablet
has an active substance – domperidone. Together with other components from the
composition, this pill blocks the impact of a chemical irritant in the body,
which gives a feeling of bloating, vomiting or nausea. Also, a tablet of this
drug improves bowel function, making food easier to go through the intestines
and free from the feeling of overeating and heaviness.

A sick
person should not be treated with Motilium if it has prolactinoma (a pituitary
tumor). Also, this medicine is prohibited for people with heart disease,
problems with liver, or for those who had bleeding in the intestines. If you
are already taking another drug that contains itraconazole or ketoconazole,
then Motilium is also forbidden for you. People, who drink antibiotics, treat
HIV or hepatitis C cannot take this drug either. There are many substances in
drugs for these diseases that cannot be combined with the composition of this
pill.

Any pills
can have a set of side reactions, so if you don’t know how to use these tablets
correctly, it is better to ask attending doctor or experienced pharmacist. It
is important to remember that such a pill should be taken 15-25 minutes before eating,
and the number of pills or ml per day will be individually depending on the
disease of a particular patient.

Motilium is
a harmless medicament but it also needs the advice of your doctor. There may be
other symptoms that can also be removed with these pills.
