Avalide (Irbesartan)

Avalide (Irbesartan) is a medication that is classified as an angiotensin receptor blockers. It is used to treat hypertension and kidney problems (diabetic nephropathy) caused by diabetes. Due to work of  Avapro (Irbesartan)  the blood vessels don’t narrow, blood pressure lowers and blood flows more easily. Moreover, this medication prevents heart attacks, strokes and kidney disorders.

Indication for use

Avalide (Irbesartan) can be taken by almost all adults and teenagers over 18 who have:
· Arterial hypertension;
· Nephropathy in patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (as part of combination antihypertensive therapy).

Precautions

Avalide (Irbesartan) is not recommended to use if you have: hypersensitivity to irbesartan or any component of the medication; lactase deficiency, lactose intolerance; pregnancy; lactation period.

Dose and usage

Dose of Avalide (Irbesartan): 150mg, 300mg – peach oval-shaped tablet with heart squeeze on one size and and “2875” or “2876” on the reverse side.

The initial dose is 150 mg, if necessary, increase the dose to 300 mg. In some cases (hypochloride diet, treatment with some diuretics, prior treatment for vomiting or diarrhea, hemodialysis), a lower initial dose is used. Irbesartan is taken orally 1 time / day, preferably at the same time of day independently on mealtime.

Side effects

Almost always taking of Avalide (Irbesartan) goes without any side effects but at least there can be some cases: abdominal or stomach pain, arterial hypertension, dizziness, fatigue, asthenia, chest pain, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, heartburn, headache, bloody or cloudy urine.
